Meet the Authors Session

The 21^th IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion will provide once again the opportunity to the conference participants to meet with authors of recent books in Health Promotion (published since 2010). During three days at lunch time, in a convivial atmosphere, about 30 authors will be invited to present and discuss their books with about 20 participants. (the list of the authors and abstracts of the books will be available soon)

A graduate student in health promotion will assist the authors in facilitating the discussion.The aim is to provide another opportunity for the authors to promote their books and for people who will not be able to attend the conference to engage in dialogue with them.

Prior to the Conference, online dialogues will be launched on VHPO (www.vhpo.net) so that everyone can discuss the book, even if they cannot attend the Conference. These dialogues could also nurture the discussions that will take place during the “Meet the Authors” sessions. (Further information on the dialogues will be available soon).

The objectives of these sessions are

• To promote discussions based on recent health promotion books
• To showcase recent publications in health promotion
• To foster networking during and after the conference
• To develop facilitation skills of students who will assist the authors during the sessions

The “Meet the Authors” session will be organized during lunch time (12:35 to 13:25)  on 26, 27 and 28 August 2013.

Notes for participants

• We encourage participants to read the book before the sessions in order to foster deeper exchanges with authors.
• Participants are strongly encouraged to register before the sessions, at the registration desk of the Conference.
• A question box will be available during the Conference for participants who cannot attend the sessions.
