Sub-plenary session - three examples of exciting themes to be discussed |
| |
Evaluation is an essential dimension of programme development and implementation. The evaluation process allows for the consideration of multiple effects, both expected and unexpected. The sub-plenary session Challenges and Issues around the evaluation of interventions will discuss specific ways in which evaluation can provide information on all dimensions related to the impact of programmes and actions in terms of equity and the fight against social and health inequalities.
The Healthy Settings approach has been widely discussed in Health Promotion circles. The sub-plenary session Healthy and Sustainable Settings: Reflections and Future Directions invites academics and practitioners who were involved in initiating and developing this approach to debate the current implementation of settings-based health promotion and to explore future directions in the context of 21st century forces. A particular focus of the moderated discussion will be that of equity and sustainable development.
What can health promotion learn from other social movements? asks a sub-plenary session which would like to enable health promoters to be more effective in affecting social and cultural change. Panelists will discuss questions such as: How have social movements organised themselves effectively? or: What strategies have been useful? contributing examples from their personal experience. In an innovative format audience questions will be welcomed via in-person participation, twitter, text message and paper entries.

Prices range from 23 CHF a day for a dormitory bed to 50 CHF a day for a single room. In order to profit from this offer book your room now! Conference partners and sponsors – a joint force of expertise |
| |
Health Promotion Switzerland, the Geneva 2010 organiser, is proud to present an ever-increasing list of conference partners. Those include different agencies of the Swiss Federal Administration such as the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the Federal Office for Spatial Development (FOSD) and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The Canton of Geneva presents itself as a dynamic and active host. From the private sector, we welcome Pfizer. In addition, we linked up with outstanding NGOs such as the WWF, Equiterre and Public Health Switzerland. As for academia, we closely cooperate with the Institute of Social and Preventive Medicine (ISPM) at the University of Bern as well as the University of Geneva. And, last but not least, we are delighted to announce that the “Loterie Romande” Foundation has recently agreed to step in as a sponsor.
