Apprentissage participatif

The scientific programme of the 20th IUHPE World Conference on Health Promotion consists of different presentation formats to provide presenters and participants with a unique, inspiring learning experience, as well as discussion and exchange opportunities about stateof- the-art knowledge and cross-cutting issues in health promotion and sustainable development.

All conference participants are invited to give feedback on what’s happening throughout the five days of the conference. A special team of evaluators and observers will be
there to collect impressions, highlights and suggestions for improvement. A short feedback on the previous day with reflections and feedback from participants will be given each morning before the plenary.

Plenaries and sub-plenaries
Everyday of the Conference, all participants are invited for a joint session in the plenary room to meet distinguished speakers who will provide the latest insights and share their opinions on the conference themes. These discussions will be supplemented by daily debates and discussions in five parallel sub-plenary sessions.

Parallel and poster sessions
A wide array of presentation formats will be offered in the parallel and poster sessions: from symposia to workshops, from oral presentations to electronic poster sessions,
from traditional posters to guided poster tours – there is something for everybody!

All conference participants are invited to visit the poster area that will host more than 1200 posters over the four conference days. All poster presenters will be available for discussion during coffee breaks and lunches. Selected guided poster tours allowing for extra debate and discussion time on specific topics will take place during lunch time in the poster area.

Oral presentation sessions, symposia and some of the more traditional workshops will take place in the main conference building. Sessions that will utilise highly interactive
techniques and innovation will be offered in the workshops taking place on the ‘Wild Side’ and in alternative working spaces.

New poster presentation format: Electronic poster sessions will be held on the Wild Side, with short interventions, supported by visual images and time for discussion in between.

Take a Walk on the Wild Side!

  • Old conferences were talking heads …
  • Recent conferences were talking heads, talking aboutthe importance of participation …
  • This conference aims to implement participation …
Creative and interactive learning methods in sub-plenaries, parallel and poster sessions have been clustered under the slogan ‘Take a Walk on the Wild Side’.

Five rooms in the adjoining building CCV aka ‘Wild Side’ and alternative working spaces in the main conference building CICG [WS A1, WS A2, WS A3 and WS A4] will host interactive workshops and sub-plenaries. All these rooms are equipped with flipcharts, pin-walls and chairs that have been arranged for work in groups. Such learning formats as World Café and Open Space debates [for more information on these formats, please visit the conference website] will be implemented there.

On each conference day starting from Sunday, a reflection session with interested participants will be held on the Wild Side to share their expectations, impressions and
observations about the conference.

We invite you to exchange, discuss, learn, disagree, be active, share, network, express, have fun …

Be part of this unique experience – Take a Walk on the Wild Side!
