The IUHPE Geneva conference 2010 features a new presentation format electronic posters. The purpose of this is to make the poster presentations more attractive and audible and visible in addition to make travel more convenient by sparing the participants from travelling with bulky posters. Please enjoy this new opportunity and format to make poster presentations more focused and attractive to both presenters and the audience. Posters on similar themes will be clustered together in order to make it possible to have a good discussion with others interested in the theme after the presentations.
General Guidelines
- Presenters have been designated a session date and time (see abstract submission acceptance letter) on which the electronic poster will be presented.
- The presentations will be on screen where the presenter is given a total of 10 minutes: (5 minutes of presentation 5 minutes of discussion).
- The poster material should consist of the poster proper (one power point slide) and separately an abstract (in an additional slide). The only exception allowed is a 5 minute automatically timed series of PowerPoint© slides. The chair of the session can cut off the screen and presentation and shift to the next if time limits are exceeded.
- It is mandatory to indicate your new abstract number (see abstract submission acceptance letter) in the upper right corner of the power point slide
- Content should include the title of the presentation as well as the name and institution and the list of authors
- Further it should be well labeled and legible from a distance (the size of display is LCD, 46 inches, format 16/9)
- It is therefore recommended not to fill the slide with too much information
- To get an idea see some examples of the The 2nd International Research Seminar on Salutogenesis and the 2nd Meeting of the IUHPE GWGS which was arranged by the Health Promotion Research Group at Folkhälsan, 14-16 May, 2009 in Helsinki Finland http://www.salutogenesis.fi/eng/2nd_International_Research_Seminar.27.html
To take a look at the Examples please scroll down the page until you reach the title “poster presentations”.
- The audience will be standing but a few chairs for people with disabilities are available at each presentation location.
- The sequence of your presentation and the presentations of your peers within your session can be found either in the abstract submittion letter or in the online programme.
- If any changes regarding the presenting author occur, a written statement needs to be sent to indicating the conference, the abstract number, the old presenter and the new presenter at the very latest until the 30th of April 2010. After this date no changes can be considered for the printed programme.
Audiovisual guidelines
Please note that the following audiovisual material will be available for your presentation:
- Conference rooms will be fully equipped with computers supporting Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 from Microsoft Windows XP Professional Edition© with Microsoft Office 2007©. PowerPoint 2003 and any earlier version can also be accommodated.
- Mac presentations should be saved in PC format.
- 35mm slide projection and overhead projection will NOT be available.
Please arrive at the session meeting room at least 15 minutes before the start of your session. Take time to familiarize yourself with the setup of the room and meet the session chair nominated by the Global Scientific Committee.
Speakers Preview Room
All speakers are requested to check in at the Speakers Preview Room at least two hours before the session (or the day before for early morning sessions). You will be able to upload your PowerPoint© presentation and/or slides on a central server. It is imperative that you have your presentation reviewed in the speakers preview room especially if it contains video files, or if it was created on Macintosh computer to ensure it’s proper functioning.
